Anatomic localization of lymph node

"Our ASIR option on Discovery NM/CT 670 system enables us to use low dose CT protocols for our patients while keeping an excellent visualization of anatomic localization of uptake in lymph nodes enabling then a minimal invasive surgery. This low dose localization provides us with precise removal of the detected lymph nodes."

Clinical Case

Patient History
Patient with malignant melanoma on the right upper arm. Injection of 99mTc in 4 points around the scar after previously removed malignant melanoma

Acquisition

20 MBq 99mTc-Nanocoll in 4 points around the scar 1.5 h post injection.
LEHR collimator,
360° tomo 60 steps of 15 sec 128x128 zoom 1.0

CT  120 kV, automA  35  mA dose modulated
DLP 136,16   mGy-cm,  CTDIvol 3,73 mGy

Results

SPECT/CT shows uptake in two lymph nodes, one dorsal to the central part of the humerus and a lymph node in the right axilla in fat tissue between 3rd rib and muscle subscapularis.

Conclusion
Visualization of anatomic localization of uptake in lymph nodes enabled minimal invasive surgery with precise removal of the detected lymph nodes.
